The Right Approach for Every Property
Cleaning windows in East Sussex requires more than just a squeegee and a bucket. The region’s unique mix of historic architecture and modern housing means that a one-size-fits-all approach simply doesn’t work.
A townhouse with uPVC window frames requires a completely different approach to cleaning than a 17th-century timber-framed cottage. Using high-pressure water or detergent chemicals on the wrong surface would cause irreversible damage to historic materials. We assess every property individually, adjusting our tools, methods, and cleaning solutions to match the specific glazing and framing of your home.
At the conclusion of every job, we inspect our work, wipe the sills and correct anything we may have missed.
Our Residential Exterior Services
We provide a comprehensive exterior cleaning service. While we are best known for leaving beautiful streak-free windows, we also handle the surrounding exterior surfaces and finishes that protect your home from the elements.
Windows, Frames, and Sills: We clean the whole window, not just the glass. This includes the frames, sills, and tracks. We utilise pure water pole systems for modern properties to prevent limescale spots, and traditional, low-pressure hand-cleaning methods for delicate frames.
Specialist Glazing and Period Features: Historic properties require a more delicate and experienced touch. Whether it is the intricate leading of a Victorian window or the small panes of a Georgian pane in a wooden sash frame, we have the techniques, the specialised brushes and tools, and the means to clean gently, yet thoroughly.
Roof Glass, Lanterns, and Skylights: Conservatory roofs, glass extensions, lanterns, and skylights will quickly accumulate green algae and moss, run-off, and bird mess, which not only blocks natural light – it looks awful. We safely access and clean these difficult-to-reach glass panels, restoring the light to your home and your big-sky view.
Gutter clearance: Clogged gutters are one of the leading causes of damp and structural damage in Sussex homes. Water quickly damages the fabric of a building, and when aided by gravity the harm runs down your property from top-to-bottom. We provide full gutter clearance for your peace of mind, ensuring water flows freely away from your property.
Fascia, Soffits, and roofline finishes: Clean fascias and soffits, and the exterior of guttering, pleasingly lift the appearance of any home. The removal of black streaks and algae, or roof run-off, make a building stand out as attractive and pro-actively maintained, and prevents finishes from degrading. Even uPVC loses it’s shine and whiteness when neglected.
Solar Panel and Cladding Cleaning: Dirty solar panels accumulate lots of dirt and run-off due to necessary shallow installation angles. We use pure, deionised water to clean them without leaving residue to protect and maintain your investment, helping to maximise your energy output. We also safely clean a variety of exterior cladding materials, from uPVC to painted timber.

Local Experience: Understanding East Sussex Homes
Living in East Sussex means your property faces a combinatrion of coastal and rural conditions. Strong coastal south-westerly winds combine with with heavy pollen, agricultural dust, and tree sap.
A large portion of Sussex housing stock is historic. Carefully maintained and regularly painted window frames with single glazing are common. We understand the specific building regulations and conservation area requirements that apply to listed buildings and period properties. We do not use high pressure water, nor chemicals or detergents (unless traditionally cleaning your windows). Skilful application of purified water and natural brushes mean we can achieve the cleanest windows and frames for you, without harming the fabric of your property.
Modern speciality glazing, folding window systems, and energy-efficient double (or triple) glazing is common on newer Sussex homes. It is best cleaned in a different way to older glazing. Modern glass is highly machine polished, which means it holds and releases dirt – and water – very differently to early drawn-glass windows. Appropriate tension and brushes are required for the best results, and the use of highly purified, de-ionised water leaves a genuinely longer lasting shine than traditional cleaning can.
Questions about residential window cleaning
How often should I have my windows cleaned?
If you want the best shine, maintained at all times, definitely monthly. If you are happy with a reasonable accumulation then every other month is often preferred.
Monthly window cleaning is keeping the shine: a maintenance clean. Less frequent cleaning involves cleaning accumulation from the glass.
Do you clean the inside of windows?
Yes. Interior window cleaning can be included by arrangement, using genuine buckets and squeegees.
Do you use traditional methods?
Yes, where traditional cleaning is the better and safer choice, or for close-hand work such as interior glass cleaning. You may request it if you prefer it.
Purified-water pole system cleaning is our preference because it is safer, but it is also a genuinely better way to clean your windows. It leaves a longer lasting shine – as well as being kinder to the fabric of your property.
Will your cleaning methods damage my leaded lights or wooden frames?
No. We use low-pressure, purified water and soft-bristle brushes specifically designed for delicate glazing. We never use abrasive chemicals or high-pressure jets on historic properties.
How often should I have my gutters cleared?
We generally recommend having your gutters cleared at least once a year. If you live near mature trees, twice a year (typically late spring and late autumn) is advised to prevent blockages and water damage.
Do I need to be home for the service?
No, you do not need to be home. As long as we have access to the exterior of the property we can complete the work – we bring everything with us. We will send you a notification once the job is complete.
